Purpose and Objective:   

Ariba, Inc. seeks a Technology Senior Consultant at our Palo Alto, CA location to consult with customers on ecommerce integration options and recommended IT processes.  

Expectations and Tasks:  

Advise customers on creative and flexible solutions to speed integration and transactions to drive their business. Conduct technical workshops to familiarize the customer IT business systems’ teams on Ariba cloud application technical configuration capabilities, technical dependencies, master data schema specifications, integration data sheets, technical connectivity, hybrid integration pre-requisites and data management strategies and approach for enterprise resource planning (ERP) software packages such as SAP/S4 HANA, Oracle and PeopleSoft. Incorporate customer technical requirements specifications into Ariba cloud platform suite by developing technical solutions such as creating custom data structures, custom user behaviors or validations, advanced expression scripting, custom approval rules, and custom integration points. Perform standalone unit testing on custom technical modifications or configuration adjustments developed on SAP Ariba cloud test platform to ensure cloud technical readiness for customers. Coordinate and manage testing process with customer from engagement to deployment. Assist in resolving issues related to transmission of electronic documents via the Ariba Network and Ariba On Demand solutions. Advise customer on best practices and lessons learned as part of prior cloud technical implementations to efficiently solution complex business use cases. Support IT implementation blueprinting discussions during exploration phase.  

Education and Occupational Experience:  

Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and six (6) years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation. Alternatively, a Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field of study and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or related occupation. 

Qualifications/Skills and Competencies Experience:  

Experience must involve four (4) years in the following: 

  • Develop product specifications and Ariba support services; 

  • Architect, blueprint, design, and implement technical landscape and configurations; 

  • SAP procurement solutions including SAP Ariba, SAP SRM, SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP BTP Integration Suite; 

  • Non-SAP databases, software stacks, programming languages, and infrastructure components; 

  • Technical services for Ariba implementation and solutioning prototypes using SAP Integration Suite and SAP Ariba Open API; 

  • Upgrade and migration of system integrators between SAP backend, Ariba cloud applications, and ERP systems; 

  • Facilitate cloud integration, identify process gaps, and perform detailed planning of technical process implementation through design solution;  

  • Troubleshoot and debug SAP ERP system integration and SAP Ariba applications involved in the landscape; 

  • Assess and develop system solutions for deployment, implement leading practices, and generate customization code in Ariba systems; and  

  • Support escalated projects and system optimization, perform issue and status tracking, and escalate critical issues. 

Travel: Position requires up to 60% domestic travel to various and unanticipated client sites.

Compensation Range Transparency:  The annual base salary range for this position is $112,621 - $175,865. SAP believes the value of pay transparency contributes towards an honest and supportive culture and is a significant step toward demonstrating SAP’s commitment to pay equity. SAP provides the annualized compensation range inclusive of base salary and variable incentive target for the career level applicable to the posted role. The targeted combined range for this position is $121,700 - $206,900. The actual amount to be offered to the successful candidate will be within that range, dependent upon the key aspects of each case which may include education, skills, experience, scope of the role, location, etc. as determined through the selection process. Any SAP variable incentive includes a targeted dollar amount and any actual payout amount is dependent on company and personal performance.
