Phlebotomist III - Float
Location: Waterbury, CT 06708 (Floating between Cheshire, Prospect, Waterbury, and Southbury)
Schedule: Hours vary - must be available between 6:00 AM and 6:00 PM
Pay Range: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Dean's Professional Services is now hiring an experienced Phlebotomist III - Float for a full-time position based in Waterbury, CT and surrounding areas. This is a great opportunity for a dependable, skilled phlebotomist who enjoys variety in their daily routine and is comfortable providing patient care across multiple locations.
Position Summary:
The Phlebotomist III - Float represents the face of the organization by delivering quality and compassionate care to patients across diverse clinical settings. This role requires drawing quality blood samples, preparing specimens for laboratory testing, and ensuring proper patient identification and labeling-all while delivering a positive and professional experience.
This position requires flexibility to float between various sites, including patient service centers, in-office phlebotomy locations, and long-term care facilities. The ideal candidate demonstrates excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring skills, and has the ability to work with high-volume, high-complexity practices requiring advanced phlebotomy experience.
Key Responsibilities:
* Perform venipuncture and capillary draws, including pediatric and geriatric patients.
* Provide phlebotomy services in multiple settings, including PSC, IOP, LTC, and house calls.
* Prepare specimens for transport while maintaining specimen integrity.
* Deliver excellent customer service and explain procedures in a calming, professional manner.
* Train, mentor, and onboard new phlebotomists and serve as a resource for peers.
* Act as on-site point of contact, supporting day-to-day activities and ensuring timely completion of tasks.
* Collaborate with departments such as Sales, Billing, IT, and Logistics when working with high-volume or complex accounts.
Requirements:
* Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
* Medical Training: Medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
* Certification: Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in CA, NV, and WA).
Experience:
* Minimum 5 years of phlebotomy experience , including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
* At least 3 years in a Patient Service Center or In-Office Phlebotomy environment preferred.
* Experience in customer-facing roles such as healthcare or retail service preferred.
* Proficiency in data entry and basic computer skills required.

* Full-time, float position covering Cheshire, Prospect, Waterbury, and Southbury .
* Must have reliable transportation and flexibility to travel between locations as scheduled.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities in a high-volume environment.
